Alumni Unit Holds Innovation Camp for University Students and Graduates
Over two days, the Alumni Unit, in collaboration with INJAZ Palestine, hosted an innovation camp for a group of Hebron University graduates and students. Mrs. Samiha Siag, Director of the Alumni Unit at Hebron University, opened the camp by introducing the Alumni Unit at Hebron University, its most important activities, and the manner in which it provides services, followed by Mr. Ammar Abu Hussein, Coordinator of Injaz Palestine in the South Region, who continued to introduce the institution and the Innovation Camp program, as well as the most important outcomes.
The first day was a project management training in collaboration with PMI, which aimed to introduce students and graduates to the principles of project management and operations and work to provide students and graduates with the necessary tools to manage projects of various scales and levels (start, planning, implementation, follow-up and control, and closure). The second day was a real innovation camp named "I-CAMP Innovation Camp." It is an interactive training program aiming at boosting students' and graduates' awareness of the notion of innovation and creativity, as well as refining their abilities in assessing situations around them, finding acceptable solutions, and making judgments.
A social environmental concern has been identified, which is the need to identify ways to improve the quality and quantity of water in the Hebron governorate. Throughout the camp, participants attempted to find an inventive solution to the problem through group work and group debate, and the groups were finally judged according to the best approach based on preset criteria by a three-person jury.
It is worth noting that this activity fits within the Alumni Unit's vision and strategic objectives of developing the capacities of Hebron University graduates and final-year students and contributing to their preparation for the post-graduation stage.
