Opening The Exhibition Honoring Martyr Wasel Al-Ja’abari At Hebron University
His excellency Dr. Nabil Al-Ja’abari, Chairman of the Hebron University Board of Trustees opened the Palestinian Heritage Exhibition “The Exhibition Honoring Martyr Wasel Al-Ja’abari” in the presence of the counselor of the Board of Trustees Dr. Samir Abu-Zneid, Dr. Nader Hijazi member of the board of Trustees, University President Dr. Awni Al-Khatib and the Vice Presidents, the dean of Students Dr. Yousef Al-Manasreh, Dr. rafiq Al-Ja’abari director general for public affairs at the Hebron Governorate, Mr. Nimer Al-Junaidi manager of Al-Sha’er Company, a number of academic and administrative staff members at the University ,and delegations from official and non-governmental institutions in the Governorate in addition to a large crowd of University students.
The celebration which was organized in the Students’ Activities Building in the University under the patronage of the Chairman of the Board of Trustees began by reading Al-Fatiha on the soul of the martyr and cutting the opening ribbon and it included several popular and folklore songs.
Dr. Al-Ja’abari thanked the Students Senate for organizing this exhibition emphasizing the necessity for preserving the national identity, adhering to the land, history and heritage and its role in embodying the components of steadfastness and challenge by our people. He also thanked the organizers of the exhibition specially the Students Senate which contributed through this exhibition in achieving a qualitative leap in Palestinian culture and heritage.
It is worth mentioning that martyr Wasel Al-Ja’abari had been the president of the Students’ Senate and one of the distinguished students at the University. He obtained the B.A. degree in Business Administration , and he died at a young age. This exhibition was held to honor the soul of martyr Wasel al-Ja’abar who offered much to the students while he was president of the Students’ Senate.
The exhibition last one week from the date of its opening and it ends on 7 March 2011. It includes several sections including the historical photographs section, the books section, the section for the works of the prisoners in the prisons of the occupation ,the stationery section, the section for traditional tools used by the Palestinian society in storing materials and cooking, land husbandry and others , the section eulogizing the soul of the martyr leader Abu-‘Ammar, and the section eulogizing the soul of martyr Wasel Al-Ja’abari.
