HU French Language Resource Center Holds Workshop on Language and Culture

In collaboration with the Hebron-France Cultural Exchange Association and the French Institute in Jerusalem, the French Language Resource Center at Hebron University organized a linguistic and cultural workshop. Supervised by the French volunteer instructor Judith Quedville. The workshop aimed to enhance students' linguistic and cultural proficiency.

Mr. Naji Zaru, chair of the English Department, and Professor Brahim Melouki, a French language instructor, attended the workshop.

Judith Quedville conducted an interactive session that combined French language learning with French history and architecture. Participants were introduced to specialized vocabulary related to traditional architecture and historical landmarks.

A key focus of the workshop was Notre Dame Cathedral, highlighting its restoration following the Great Fire. Discussions covered the use of modern technologies to preserve its historical integrity and the broader significance of heritage sites in shaping cultural identity.

Students also had the opportunity to practice their language skills through direct engagement with the facilitator, enhancing their linguistic and cultural understanding.

The event concluded with a commemorative shield presented to Judith Quedville in recognition of her valuable contribution. Such events underscore the University’s commitment to fostering multilingual and cross-cultural learning opportunities for students.
