Hebron University participates in integrated international scientific workshop "Climate change and drought"
The Department of Applied Geography at the College of Arts participated in the integrated international scientific workshop entitled "Climate Change and Drought" which was organized by the Department of Geography and Geographic Information Systems at the University of Iraq and with the participation of the Departments of Geography at the University of Basra, the University of Baghdad, the University of Karbala, and the University of Menoufia in Egypt. During the workshop, a group of researches in applied fields related to geography and contemporary climate problems, including climate change and drought, were presented.
Dr. Hijazi Al-Dajanneh, Assistant Professor in the Department of Applied Geography, participated in a scientific paper entitled: "Climatic Analysis of Drought and Desertification in Palestine"; he shed light on the climate changes taking place in the region which have cast a shadow on society and the local and global economy, and the significant impact of the Palestinian geopolitical situation and Israeli arbitrary policies on arid and desertified areas.
