HU Participates in Roundtable Discussion Sponsored by the British Council

Hebron University Department of English Language (DELL) staff members’ Mrs. Tina Al-Qaisi and Raya Abu Gazala attended a roundtable discussion of “English Language Teaching and Learning in Palestine: People, Policy and Practice” on Tuesday, February 1st, 2022. The event was held in Ramallah and sponsored by the British Council.  Representatives from the Ministry of Education, UNRWA, and higher education institutions were also invited to share their thoughts and ideas around this central question: to what extent do the current policies and practices of the education system in Palestine support the desired English language outcomes for students? The attendees discussed the current situation of English language teaching and learning in Palestine, identified some specific needs, and proposed some potential solutions that could feed into more strategic planning at every level.
