Head of Political Science department participates in a scientific visit to Ireland

Dr. Bilal Al Shobaki participated in a scientific visit to Dublin and Belfast, Ireland. The visit was aimed at studying the Irish experience in stopping violence and conflict resolution. The visit included meetings and workshops with the leadership of the Irish parties, former Irish army officials and negotiators who contributed to the Good Friday Agreement that ended years of violence.

The visit ended with a meeting with the Palestinian ambassador in Dublin and discussing the possibility of sending Irish delegations to Palestine and receiving students to study in Irish universities.  Ireland stressed that it will offer a group of graduate scholarships for Palestinian students starting next year.
