HU achieves the first place for the project "Electronic Elections" submitted by the Computer Department. The Nayzak Institution for educational support and creativity announced the results of the competition for 2010 in Ramallah, Red Crescent Society halls. This project was one of the graduation projects in the Computer Department, Faculty of Science and Technology. It has been carried out by Nuha Wael Zughayer and under the supervision of lecturer Mr. Tareq Tamimi.
The idea of the project depends on developing a computerized system to enable the students and the administration, supervising the electoral process for the Students Union at the Palestinian Universities, to elect the students council from inside and outside the university walls. This system aims to streamline and facilitate the electoral process to the students as well as saving huge efforts placed on university administration in the management of the electoral process, and to ensure the process efficiency in line with the orientations of the university towards the computerization of the university activities. This will ensure the provision of high services for all the participants in the educational process from inside and outside the university.
It is worth mentioning that the Computer Department at the university gives great importance for the outstanding graduation projects which are designed to serve local and regional community through the creation of innovative ideas and practical solutions to a variety of issues in the areas of information technology and communication.
