  Hebron City

Hebron (In Arabic Al Khalil "the friend"),

A city, ancient and deep-rooted,

With a history fragrant and sweet-scented;

A sign on each mound and everywhere

And under each stone there is a tale to share.

Hebron was named after Khalil Al-Rahman (literally meaning "friend of the Merciful [Allah]") [the Prophet Ibrahim (PBUH)] who came to this city in 2000 BC. It had been taken by many nations who had heavily portrayed its colorful and eventful history on the pages of time until it embraced the religion of his descendant, Prophet Muhammad, may Allah's blessings and peace be upon him and his family. This has added a peculiar sanctity to the city and given it an eminent dignity in the hearts of its visitors and citizens
