Arabic

 

The department was opened in 1980. It started with 287 students. At the beginning, the department followed the academic year system. Then, in 1982 it followed the credit hour system and then distance learning was stopped. The department opened a Master Program in Arabic in 1997. The department also offers a program in Methods of Teaching Arabic.

English

 

Started with 80 students, this number reached 450 in 2005/2006. The department offers the B.A. degree in English Language and Literature which includes courses in language, literature, translation and methodology of Teaching. The department currently offers three majors in addition to an MA degree in Linguistics.
